We've Caged the Wild Beast

Ah, the wonderful world of having a mobile infant. Suddenly the world is an exciting place for E, just waiting to be explored. There are crumbs to be eaten, dvds to be pulled down, drawer knobs to be licked, and toys are oh so boring. My role as baby-minder just got much more difficult.
We went on the hunt for a baby gate. For anyone who has been to our house, you know that we have a very wide, very steep, very daunting staircase leading up to the second floor. (The basement stairs are even more terrifying, but we won't even go there right now). Hubby and I decided that, for the time being, would shop for a gate to put in the hallway upstairs. This leaves only the master and guest bedrooms and the nursery accessible to Miss Mobile. Because, after all, she's finally discovered that she can actually follow me out of her nursery when I set her down and go to run her bath. Instead of, you know, sitting there crying "mamamamama".
For now, the baby gate seems to be a novelty. She thinks it's funny when we play peekaboo with her from the other side. I'm sure she'll soon be pulling herself up, trying to figure out how to climb over the thing. But we'll cross that bridge, or rather, GATE, when we come to it. :)
